Let’s Go Back To

Real Democracy

Let’s go back in time to when each citizen voted directly on every issue they cared about. Because that’s what democracy was conceived to facilitate.

That model, however, did not scale. Soon, citizens had to elect representatives to vote on their behalf within smaller circles, and shortly after that, they either became followers or became indifferent.

We are conducting this research to determine if we can fix it, and you are welcome to join us.

The Democratic Ideal: A Promise Unfulfilled

For over 2,500 years, the word “democracy” – from the Greek for “people power” – has represented a powerful ideal: that citizens should have direct control over the laws that govern their lives. The ancient Athenians practiced this through Direct Democracy, gathering to vote on issues themselves. But as populations grew, this became impossible. A compromise was born: Representative Democracy, where we elect a few to speak for the many. While practical, this system forces us to vote for personalities, not policies, and bundles complex issues into a single choice every few years, leaving our individual voices unheard on the matters we care about most.

Modern Attempts, Lingering Problems

In the digital age, new models have emerged to fix this. Liquid Democracy offers a compelling step forward, allowing citizens to delegate their vote to trusted experts on specific topics and revoke it at any time. It is more fluid and accountable than traditional systems. However, it still revolves around delegating to people, creating the risk of new power structures – influential “super-delegates” who accumulate thousands of votes. This inadvertently recreates the leader/follower dynamic, and the focus remains on choosing a representative, not deciding on the issue itself. The core problem of personality-based politics remains.

Our Vision: Realized Democracy

We believe the solution isn’t another variation, but a return to the original principle, finally made possible by technology.

We are rebuilding Democracy – a platform where you vote on issues, not people. By default, every citizen votes directly on every law, empowered by AI-driven tools that provide clear, unbiased explanations of complex legislation. If you don’t have time or expertise on a specific topic, you can optionally delegate your vote for that single issue to a trusted peer, but that delegation cannot be passed on. We hope to create a dynamic that prevents the concentration of power and ensures your voice is either yours or in the hands of someone you personally trust.

This is democracy uncompromised: the power of the people, finally realized.
